A busy parish priest needed a reliable, non-fussy way to track complex driving expenses for tax purposes. Traditional methods were tedious and unreliable. We designed a custom, script-based solution in Google Sheets that automatically calculated the mileage between two destinations (rectory, parish meetings, etc.), populates the expense sheet, and integrates other costs. This not only streamlined his compliance but also directly inspired the development of our recently published Travel Expenses Add-on for the public market.

We designed a hyper-efficient solution using only the school's existing Google Workspace and free add-ons. Teachers could log entries via a simple Google Form.
